Christmas Eve

This Christmas Eve was special. We opened lots of fun presents (thanks to my Mom and Aunt Patti), ate dinner by candlelight, went to the EPB building to see the display, and had peppermint chocolate chip cookies and advent by the tree. Bjorn and Meghan were so excited to unwrap the baby Jesus on our advent calendar.

Tommy's present!

This is for you Mom...

My mother sent several Christmas dresses for Meghan and I put her in the first one this past Sunday morning... I couldn't resist taking a few, I just love this little dress! And of course, I love this little girl and her Nana, too! Thanks, Mom!

Christmas Time is Here

Bringing in our Christmas tree... the kids were so excited.

Bjorn was especially involved this year. He would step way back from the tree, put his hands on his hips, cock his head, and say, "Hmmmm. I think it needs to go a little left." Then he would march right up to the tree, snip a little bit of a branch off, then back up again and say, "That's MUCH better." Then he would repeat... then repeat...

Meghan was delighted as well!

And now for a little sentimental moment... This is my favorite Christmas ornament. A little baby Jesus in a walnut manger that was made when I was teensy weensy that my mom always held onto. Every year, as long as I can remember, I would place this little ornament directly under a yellow light. It's a little Christmas ritual that brings back childhood memories no matter how far away from "home" I live or how old I get. I know they say "You can't take it with you" but I may just try to smuggle this in... Surely no one will take offense?
