These were fun little Valentines that I made with B for his little MDO class. Start out by cutting out some hearts and rubber cement them to butcher paper. Rubber cement is great because you can still peel it off after it dries.
Next, have your child water-color paint the hearts.
(It doesn't matter if they don't stay in the lines! In fact, if they purposefully paint outside the lines, that will make another heart underneath that can be used for something else. Shucks, I'm just so green.)
Almost done...
Now, these need to dry completely. Then, peel them off.
Next, use some different colored card-stock (good old Hobby Lobby again), and allow your child to pick out a color that suits each child in the class. Bjorn had some very strong opinions concerning this step.
Then, rubber cement them again to the sheet of card-stock and write a little note on top or whatever you want. I was really proud of Bjorn. He worked so hard signing his name for each card. I think he did a great job!
